NPQSpecialist – Course Information

The three new specialist NPQs replace the current NPQML.

The Leading Teacher Development NPQ (NPQLTD) for Teachers with responsibility for leading and supporting the training and development of other teachers.

The Leading Teaching NPQ (NPQLT) for Teachers with responsibility for leading teaching in a subject or year.

The Leading Behaviour and Culture NPQ (NPQLBC) for Teachers with responsibility for leading behaviour and culture in their school.

All NPQs are taught through a blended balance of online individual learning, online seminars and face-to-face meetings and a simplified end-of-course assessment. There are two cohorts annually, starting in Autumn and Spring. The programme last 12 months.

Summary of Costs:

NPQLT: Leading Teaching Cost: £840 *

NPQLBC: Leading Behaviour and Culture Cost: £840 *

State-funded schools and academies, Independent schools or individuals employed in these settings may apply and pay for these programmes.

* Scholarship Funding is available for participants from State-funded schools and academies. The DFE criteria for scholarships is currently state-funded schools with more than 30% pupil premium or with specific IDACI and AEA criteria.

NPQLTD: Leading Teacher Development Cost: £840 **

** Fully Funded The DfE will fully fund participants from State-funded schools and academies following an eligibility assessed application process.

If you are not eligible to access funding you/your school can pay to do the programme.

Independent schools or individuals employed in these settings may apply and pay for this programme.

We would suggest all colleagues interested in the programmes complete the expression of interest form to receive the programme specific application without obligation. Colleagues can stop the application process once a decision has been made regarding the funding if they cannot proceed.
